Wakrusa 2005, Part II: Gov't Mule

As the sun went down on the second full day of fun at the Wakarusa Music & Camping Festival, festival goers had to make a tough choice: head over to the Revival Tent for the fat funk of Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe, amble to the Sun Down Stage for alt-country turned aural experimentalists Wilco, or plant their feet at the Sun Up Stage and catch one of the hardest working men on the improv rock scene today: Warren Haynes and Gov’t Mule.

As a current member of the Allman Brothers Band and the Dead, the founding force behind Gov’t Mule, and maintaining his own solo career as well, Haynes has become a summer music festival institution. Take a listen to the guitar work on these two prime cuts from that Saturday night Wakarusa set, and it’s easy to see why. [Download the entire set via BitTorrent here. For a BT how-to, go here.]
