We’re Kind Of A Big Deal
Just this month, Fast Company listed Kansas City as one of the best cities worldwide for innovation. Eleven other cities were mentioned: Beijing; Hyderabad, India; Mexico City; Kigali, Rwanda; Seattle; Orlando, Fla.; Calgary, Alberta; Moscow; Barcelona; Doha, Qatar; and Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates,
Kansas City
A $9 billion redevelopment is restoring downtown KC’s shine with the new Sprint Center and Steven Holl’s glorious expansion of the Nelson-Atkins Museum. This Missouri city also anchors a new animal-health corridor — a bovine Silicon Valley — that’s home to more than 120 bioscience firms. The hope is that this old cow town’s new spin will boost job growth and keep young people from seeking greener pastures. [links mine]
Could we now collectively get over the Midwestern inferiority complex, please?
IMHO the Sprint Center and the Power and Light District are crap and hardly help the midwestern inferiority complex. I haven’t spoken to anybody who appreciates all those ridiculous, overpriced “Chili’s/Applebees” and doesn’t work there (prices are crazy so tips are good). Plus, basketball is fffffuckin’ boring. Where is the hockey team? (not that I care cos watching hockey is boring
back to work
I agree in part, but you have to think of the outsider’s perception of KC. Having an active downtown — even if it is sorta plastic — isn’t bad. Eventually, it will start to feel more homegrown. If not, it’ll start to get ugly once the shiny wears off.
You both don’t know what you’re about. PL district is fun – perhaps you aren’t in the … say … target demographic?
I would like to build a wire? 8 wires, stranded, for flexability with a female connector on one end and a male on the other, so they plug into each other about twenty feet long. really small, and prefferably white sheathing. FYI the wire will be used on a bicycle between the bike and the burly trailer to turn on/off switches from the handlebars.
I appreciate your time. Thank You, Geno.

Geno, I’m not sure if I can help you on this one. You might be better off contacting the good folks at Major Custom Cable.
That wins the “most random post of the month” title.
