Sexy Endcaps At Barnes & Noble

I was in my local Barnes & Noble yesterday, wandering around looking for some summer reading material (after having received a Google beach kit thanks to my friends in the media department) when I spotted this “Sex and the City” end cap display.  While I generally appreciate photos of gratuitous cleavage attractive women (though Sarah Jessica Parker in particular doesn’t do much for me), I couldn’t help but be amused enough by the display’s placement to snap this picture.

Now I’m not one to think that sex and Christianity are mutually exclusive topics that should never cross paths, but I’m guessing that the moral sensibilities of Barnes & Noble’s core customers are likely much less liberal than my own…especially here in the midwest.  So at first, I thought that some poor B&N drone had made a poor choice in location.  Thinking on it again today, however, I believe this could also be an example of Barnes & Noble showing an incredible sense of savvy in knowing that core customer segment.

Thoughts?

I’d be interested to see what’s next to the “foreign literature” section.
