The Day’s Delicious
Assorted nonsense and marginally relevant shenanigans via my personal delicious.com bookmarks.
- How Teens Use Cellphones: A great infographic here based on Pew Internet Research. No real surprises but it's definitely something to hang on your wall for reference…and expect to have to change in 3 to 6 months.
- What role for the CMO in Social? The research…: Further commentary from Forrester on the role of C-level executives in social efforts. Their take? CMO = champion supporter, not owner.
- Facebook Is Hallmark’s New Way to Say "Happy Mother’s Day": As a child that was practically clothed, fed and educated thanks to "ye olde Kansas City carde shoppe" — my parents collectively worked for Hallmark for 44 years — I'm thrilled to see the folks down at Crown Center start to wrap their collective heads around social media. Facebook events may have killed the casual birthday card but efforts like this tell me that there is still plenty of fight left in Hallmark.
- The Current State of Web Design: Trends 2010: Here's a taste of what's hot with web designers right now. That's a lot of inspiration in one blog post. As the son of a typesetter and admitted font snob, I'm especially enthralled with the section on typography trends.
- All Social Media Roads Lead to Rome: Brand Awareness. Engagement. Relationship Building. Trust. Thought Leadership. Loyalty. Yeah…those are well and good. But in the end, show me the MONEY!
