The Natural State of America
As I look back on all the great friends I made early in my life, I’m struck by how so many of them have gone on to do some pretty incredible things. Today I received an email from one of my high school/college compatriots that blew me away. Check this out:
Congratulations, Dr. Campbell, on what looks like a fascinating and exciting project. Can’t wait to see where this goes for you!
John and Sarah,
You will have another opportunity to see the film on Feb. 11th at the Dynamic Earth Equipment Co. Store in Overland Park, Kansas. I’ll be there.
Hugs,
BC
It is a little odd that they are just sitting on this film that they supposedly ‘care’ so much about! What is up with that? Especially with spring being here and the release of it this film could actually have helped prevent spraying. But I saw on the movie’s page that they would not release it for ‘film festival purposes’, so I guess we can see where the real motive lies… publicity. They are probably excited about upcoming spraying because they will be able to use it as publicity for their film! If they really cared about the issue they would have done things differently and gotten the film out to the public! But hey, I guess that ‘horrible’ Uncle Sam isn’t the only one with an ulterior motive.
Based on my conversations with one of the film’s producers, it’s not complete. In fact, the screening versions that have been shown to date include an ending that has not been finalized. (In many ways, the ending of this whole saga has yet to be written.) So please understand that this isn’t a matter the filmmakers just wanting to delay the release for the sake of publicity — they want to make sure they put out a complete and quality statement on the matter. I can assure you that they care just as passionately about this issue as anyone.
